Carry the Light Puts Faith Into Action

Our History

Lance and Elizabeth Pound started Carry the Light, Inc. in January 2008. Elizabeth, a teacher, became increasingly distraught as she watched children coming to school without school supplies. She shared her concerns with Lance, who echoed similar sentiments and experiences.

It was at that point they decided it was time to do something to make difference…a time to carry the light.

Our Work Today

Carry the Light provides support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. The means to do this work comes from donations in the form of shelf-stable food, hygiene products, school supplies, emergency supplies, and monetary donations. Carry the Light is currently supporting a Mobile Food Pantry, delivering food to those unable to access transportation and partnering with a community church food pantry. Disaster relief after significant weather events is another way Carry the Light provides assistance with tarps, water, and crisis care kits.

Our Work Tomorrow

Through its work, Carry the Light has learned that a systemic, comprehensive approach is needed to truly effect change beyond facilitating blessings. Our goal is to provide help that promotes independent, sustainable living. Thus, we will continue to support outcome driven community programs, food distributions, and disaster relief for those in crisis. Please explore our site to learn more!
